Whiteside Museum of Natural History's internships offers hands-on experiences in fieldwork, fossil preparation, and collections. Our internship programs provide valuable experiences to help toward careers in paleontology and geology.

2022 Summer Internship

The Whiteside Museum of Natural History has a month and a half paid Paleontology internship from June 14th to August 6th. The internship is 40 hrs a week Tuesday - Sunday. Some fossil preparation experience is preferred but not required. We are currently only accepting enrolled college students for this internship.

The deadline to apply is April 1st. The job recipient will be notified on May 1st.

Interns will receive $450 per week and paid housing by WMNH.


  • The intern will participate in fieldwork.

  • The intern will prepare vertebrate fossils using specialized tools and adhesives.

  • The intern will learn/improve working in our collections.



  • Currently enrolled in a college institution.

  • Must have a passion for paleontology and an interest in pursuing a career in Earth Sciences.

Recipient Schedule 
Tuesday – Sunday 9 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. 
Start date: June 14th, 2022

End Date: Beginning of August (flexibility is available)
